A Mountain Kick representative will receive you as you land into Kathmandu and take you to your hotel.
It takes about eight hours to reach Syabrubesi in a public bus. The view outside the window is very beautiful as we pass through rivers, hills and towns all the way through to Syabrubesi. We will have lunch somewhere along the way.
We will begin our day with an uphill climb for about three hours. After that, the path to Gatlang is relatively flat. Gatlang is a small and beautiful village inhabited by indigenous Tamang people and is rich in culture.
The Annapurna massif will be on the background throughout the five-hour trip as we pass through several villages to reach Tatopani. The initial part of the trip involves climbing down from Gatlang to Chilime which takes about two hours. Then we get across the river and hike up to Tatopani. “Tatopani”, translates into “hot water” in Nepali, and you will spend the evening in the natural hot water spring here that will heal your body of all the pain of trekking so much.
We begin early and cross the forest from Tatopani to a Sherpa village. From the village, we have to climb up the Nagthali Dandahill. We will reach our destination in about four hours. From the top of Nagthali, you will be treated with beautiful scenes of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal and other Himalayan peaks.
We will reach our destination in Thuman in two to three day so it is an easy walk. Before leaving Nagthali Danda, we could make a morning excursion to the Yang Ri view point and take a closer look at the Himalayas. You can see all the way to Tibet from this point. We will leave Nagthali after lunch and reach Thuman in less than three hours as it is downhill. Thuman is another village rich with Tamang heritage. The locals here are always happy to perform cultural shows for the tourists.
We will begin our trek after breakfast and the first part of it is an easy walk on flat land for about an hour. Then we descend to the Timure Valley. We can also arrange an excursion to the Tibetan border if you wish to; it takes an hour to get there from the Valley. Anyway, we will climb up from the Valley and it takes us three hours to reach Briddhim, another culturally rich village.
We will walk back to the place where it all started. It takes about three hours of descending through forests to get here.
We take the long road back to Kathmandu. It is a seven hour ride through roads carved into the hills. The view of the Himalayas in the distance will surely remind you of your travel there.
You will be on a plane back home and we will be there to see you off.

As one of the core guiding principles for Mountain Kick, we always give back to the mountain community in any way we can as a means of gratitude. The people who live in the Himalayas and share their homes with us deserve to have all their little problems fixed which seem very basic for outsiders but are commonplace in rural Nepal. The people lack proper access to healthcare, sanitation and education but a little effort from travellers goes on a long way to solve these issues. Mountain Kick has made it its corporate social responsibility to help improve the living standards of the local community. We make donations to their cause, organize social campaigns and programs and also have a few trips designed to mix a little volunteer work in your holiday.
