Nepal Adventure and Foothills Trek: Rafting, Paragliding, Bungee Jumping and Panchase Hill Trek
This 12-day tour combines three of Nepal’s headline adventure activities with a four-day mountain trek to Panchase Hill. Rafting, paragliding, and bungee jumping are all included in the price, along with trekking guides, porters, and teahouse accommodation throughout the trek.
The itinerary moves through four distinct areas. It starts with a day of Kathmandu sightseeing before heading to the Trishuli River for white-water rafting. From the river, you continue to Bandipur, a medieval Newari hilltop village that sits above the Pokhara highway and sees a fraction of the tourist traffic of Kathmandu or Pokhara. A morning in Bandipur is followed by the scenic drive into Pokhara, where the next two days cover paragliding from Sarangkot and bungee jumping at Hemja.
The second half of the trip is the Panchase Hill trek: four days on the trail from Pumdi through rhododendron forests and alpine grassland to the summit at 8,222 feet, with a full panorama of the Annapurna range at the top, then down to Kande. The tour ends with a final night in Kathmandu and a farewell dinner before departure.
All transport, accommodation, activity fees, safety equipment, trekking guides, porters, and the majority of meals are included.
HIGHLIGHTS
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Thamel by private vehicle. Check in and rest.
In the evening, meet your guide for a trip briefing covering the full 12-day itinerary and safety protocols for each adventure activity and the trekking days.
Full day at Kathmandu’s main heritage sites. Visit Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of the Bagmati River, the great stupa at Boudhanath, Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) on the hilltop west of the city, and Kathmandu Durbar Square in the old city centre. Your guide covers the history and significance of each site.
Afternoon free to explore Thamel or the local markets.
Depart early by private vehicle for Charaundi on the Trishuli River, approximately 3 hours from Kathmandu. Brief safety session with your rafting guides, then on the water for a 3-hour run through Grade 2 and 3 rapids to Kurintar.
After the rafting section, dry off and continue by road to Bandipur. The medieval Newari hilltop village sits above the main Kathmandu to Pokhara highway at 1,030 metres. Arrive in the evening for a walk through the cobblestone main street.
Morning free to explore Bandipur at your own pace. The village centre has remained largely unchanged for centuries: carved wooden facades, traditional Newari architecture, and views across the valley to the Himalayan foothills. Visit the Bindabasini Temple and walk out to Tundikhel viewpoint for the morning mountain views.
After lunch, drive to Pokhara (approximately 2 hours). Arrive at the lakeside hotel in the afternoon.
Transfer to the Sarangkot paragliding launch site early morning (approximately 30 minutes from Pokhara). After a briefing with your certified tandem pilot, take off from Sarangkot Hill for a 30 to 45-minute flight above Pokhara. The Annapurna range fills the northern horizon on a clear day. You descend to the landing strip at Phewa Lake.
Afternoon free in Pokhara. Visit Devi’s Falls, Mahendra Cave, or take a boat out on Phewa Lake if you wish.
Transfer to the Hemja bungee site, approximately 15 minutes north of Pokhara. The platform is a 262-foot steel tower on the edge of a cliff. Full briefing from your certified instructors, then the jump.
Return to your hotel for the rest of the afternoon. Free evening in Pokhara.
Start the Panchase Hill trek with a transfer to the trailhead, then a 5-hour walk up to Pumdi village. The trail climbs through terraced farmland and forest, with views opening across Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake as you gain elevation. The World Peace Pagoda is visible on the ridge to the south. Pumdi has a three-storey view tower for an even wider panorama of the Annapurna range.
Continue through dense rhododendron forest toward the base of Panchase Hill. The trail passes through open alpine grassland in places, and on a clear day the entire arc of the Annapurna range is visible to the north. The 5-hour walk brings you to a small village at the foot of the Panchase Hill summit trail.
Early morning ascent to the summit of Panchase Hill at 8,222 feet. The 2-hour climb through forest is straightforward, and the summit rewards with a 360-degree panorama across the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges. Return to the village for lunch, then descend 3 hours through forest to Bhadaure.
Final 3-hour trek through forest to Kande, the trail endpoint. Transfer by private vehicle to Pokhara (1 hour), then the scenic drive back to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway (approximately 6 hours).
Arrive in Kathmandu in the evening. Check in and rest.
Morning free for last-minute sightseeing or shopping. Thamel, Asan Bazaar, and New Road are the main areas for handicrafts, thangka paintings, pashmina, and souvenirs.
In the evening, traditional Nepali farewell dinner hosted by Mountainkick Treks, with cultural performances.

Three paid adventure activities are included: white-water rafting on the Trishuli River (Grade 2-3), tandem paragliding from Sarangkot above Pokhara, and bungee jumping from the 262-foot Hemja platform. The 4-day Panchase Hill trek is also fully included, with trekking guide, porter, teahouse accommodation, and all meals on the trail. No prior experience is needed for any of the adventure activities.
The Nepal Adventure Tour is an activity-focused package with rafting, paragliding, bungee jumping, and a Chitwan wildlife safari. The Nepal Adventure and Foothills Trek swaps the Chitwan safari for a 4-day mountain trek and adds an overnight in the medieval village of Bandipur. If you want a proper multi-day trekking experience combined with the adventure activities, this is the right tour. If wildlife and Chitwan are a priority, the Nepal Adventure Tour is the better fit.
The Panchase trek is moderate. You walk 3 to 5 hours per day over 4 days, reaching a maximum altitude of 8,222 feet at the summit. The trails pass through forest and open grassland on mostly clear paths. Prior hiking experience is helpful but not required. A reasonable level of fitness is needed, particularly for the summit day climb and the longer descent sections. Your guide sets the pace and all meals and accommodation on the trail are handled by Mountainkick Treks.
Bandipur is a medieval Newari hilltop village at 1,030 metres above the Kathmandu to Pokhara highway. It is one of Nepal's best-preserved traditional towns, with cobblestone streets, carved wooden facades, and temple architecture largely unchanged from the 13th century. It is also almost completely unknown to most international visitors, which means you get the village mostly to yourself. The overnight stay en route from Trishuli rafting to Pokhara adds a cultural layer that most Nepal tours miss entirely.
October and November are the prime months for clear mountain views and stable weather across all activities. March and April are equally good, and the Panchase rhododendron forests are in full bloom during March and April, making it the best time for the trek section. December and January are cold at altitude but clear. The monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rain and is not recommended for this itinerary.
Prior trekking experience helps, but is not essential. The Panchase trek is a moderate trail and your licensed guide sets the pace. What matters more is a reasonable baseline of fitness: if you can walk uphill comfortably for 3 to 4 hours, you can do this trek. Bring broken-in hiking boots and trekking poles if you have them.
For bungee jumping at Hemja, the minimum age is 10 years, minimum weight is 35kg, and maximum weight is 110kg. Paragliding has no formal published weight limits but operators typically work with passengers up to around 100kg; let us know in advance if this is relevant. Rafting has no age or weight restrictions but basic comfort in water is helpful. There are no age restrictions on the Panchase trek.
All adventure activities and the trek are weather-dependent. Your guide monitors conditions and will advise on the day. In most cases a short postponement is possible. If an activity cannot run at all due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule within the itinerary. Travel insurance with activity coverage is required and strongly recommended for exactly this reason.
Breakfast is included at all hotels throughout the tour. During the 4-day Panchase trek, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included at the teahouses. The farewell dinner in Kathmandu on Day 11 is also included. Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and Pokhara on non-trek days are at your own expense.
Yes. Travel insurance is compulsory and must specifically cover white-water rafting, paragliding, bungee jumping, and trekking to at least 8,222 feet, plus emergency medical evacuation. Standard travel insurance often excludes adventure activities and trekking above a certain altitude, so check your policy carefully before you travel.

As one of the core guiding principles for Mountain Kick, we always give back to the mountain community in any way we can as a means of gratitude. The people who live in the Himalayas and share their homes with us deserve to have all their little problems fixed which seem very basic for outsiders but are commonplace in rural Nepal. The people lack proper access to healthcare, sanitation and education but a little effort from travellers goes on a long way to solve these issues. Mountain Kick has made it its corporate social responsibility to help improve the living standards of the local community. We make donations to their cause, organize social campaigns and programs and also have a few trips designed to mix a little volunteer work in your holiday.
