For Nepal, tourist visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Current fees range from USD 30 to USD 125 depending on duration. Trekking permits (TIMS, conservation fees) are arranged by MountainKick as part of your trip package where applicable.
Nepal law requires all foreign trekkers on major routes to be accompanied by a government-licensed guide. This requirement has been enforced at permit checkpoints since 2023 and applies to the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, and all restricted area regions.
All MountainKick trips include a government-licensed, English-speaking guide. Independent trekking without a licensed guide is not permitted on these routes and may result in being turned back at checkpoints.
For restricted area treks including Manaslu, Tsum Valley, Kanchenjunga, Upper Mustang, Nar Phu, and Dolpo, a licensed guide is additionally required by the terms of the Restricted Area Permit. Groups of fewer than two foreign trekkers cannot obtain a Restricted Area Permit.
All clients must carry valid travel insurance for the full duration of the trip. This is a mandatory requirement, not a recommendation.
Your policy must cover, at minimum:
MountainKick is not responsible for any costs, expenses, or losses not covered by your travel insurance policy. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive coverage before your trip.
Many of our trips involve physical exertion at high altitude in remote areas with limited medical facilities. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness and health before booking.
You must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations at the time of booking. MountainKick reserves the right to request a medical fitness certificate if the nature of the trip requires it.
If our guides determine that continuing the trek poses a serious health or safety risk to you or the group, they may require you to stop or descend. In such cases, no refund will be issued for the unused portion of the trip.
Our trips involve inherent risks including but not limited to: personal injury, illness, altitude sickness, death, or property damage. These risks may arise from travel, physical exertion, high-altitude exposure, extreme weather, wildlife, transportation, and other factors.
While MountainKick takes all reasonable measures to ensure your safety, we cannot eliminate these risks entirely. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
MountainKick, its employees, guides, porters, and agents shall not be held liable for any injury, death, or loss of personal property arising during the course of the trip, except where caused by our proven negligence.
All trips are carried out in compliance with the regulations of Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. However, MountainKick cannot be held responsible for itinerary changes caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
Any additional expenses arising from such events are the responsibility of the client.
Domestic flights to remote areas, particularly the Everest and Annapurna regions, are frequently delayed or cancelled due to weather. This is common and outside our control.
We recommend carrying extra cash to cover food and accommodation during delays. MountainKick is not responsible for additional expenses incurred.
If your trip must be altered due to flight disruption or natural disaster, we will arrange an alternative trip of equal value, or you may choose to reschedule.
