Tibet sits on the world's highest plateau, with an average elevation above 4,500m. From Kathmandu, MountainKick operates guided tours into Lhasa and beyond, covering the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung and Sera monasteries, Namtso Lake, and the Tsedang valley where Tibetan civilisation began. All tours include the Tibet Travel Permit, which can only be arranged through a registered agency and cannot be obtained independently. Entry is from Kathmandu by flight or overland via the Friendship Highway. Best seasons are April to June and September to November.
