Kathmandu to Trishuli River Rafting and Return

Full Day Adventure

A three-hour drive takes us to Charaundi where the rafting begins. With help from our guides and trainers, you will raft in the Trishuli River from Charaundi to Kurintar with grade 2 and 3 rapids on the way called the Ladies Delight. After lunch, we again get into the river and hit some more grade 2 and 3 rapids called Upset and Surprise. We return back to Kathmandu before evening

Morning Activities:

  • Early Departure: Leave Kathmandu for scenic 3-hour drive to Charaundi
  • Safety Briefing: Comprehensive instruction on rafting techniques and safety procedures
  • Equipment Fitting: Professional fitting of life jackets, helmets, and paddles
  • First Rapids Session: Navigate through Ladies Delight” rapids (class 2-3)

Afternoon Activities:

  • Riverside Lunch: Traditional meal by the riverbank
  • Second Rapids Session: Tackle Upset” and Surprise” rapids (class 2-3)
  • Scenic Float: Enjoy calmer sections with mountain and valley views
  • Return Journey: Drive back to Kathmandu, arriving by evening

No previous experience is required. Professional guides provide comprehensive safety briefings and instruction. The class 2-3 rapids are suitable for beginners while still providing excitement for experienced rafters.

All participants wear Coast Guard approved life jackets. Guides are trained in swift water rescue techniques. The rapids are designed to be challenging but safe, and there are calm sections for easy recovery if needed.

While basic swimming ability is recommended, non-swimmers can participate with proper safety precautions. Inform guides of swimming ability during the safety briefing for additional attention and support.

Age restrictions vary by season and water conditions. Generally, minimum age is 12-14 years with adult supervision. Maximum age depends on physical fitness rather than specific limits. Consult for current requirements.

Class 2 rapids have regular waves and clear passages requiring basic maneuvering. Class 3 rapids feature irregular waves and strong currents requiring more precise navigation. Both are considered intermediate level and suitable for most fitness levels.

Safety is the top priority. Trips may be cancelled or postponed due to unsafe weather or water conditions. Alternative dates will be offered, or full refunds provided if rescheduling is not possible.

Waterproof storage bags are provided for essential items. It’s recommended to leave valuable jewelry and electronics in Kathmandu or ensure they have proper waterproof protection.
