Medical consultation is recommended before your 19-day Nepal Grand Adventure – consult with a doctor regarding any medications you plan to take or bring during the trip. While the Annapurna trekking portion reaches a maximum altitude of only 10,535 feet at Poon Hill, some trekkers may still experience mild symptoms. Additionally, discuss any concerns about white-water rafting activities and jungle exposure in Chitwan National Park.
Vaccinations recommended before coming to Nepal include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, COVID-19, and seasonal influenza. For Chitwan National Park, consider Japanese Encephalitis vaccination due to mosquito exposure in jungle areas. Consult your healthcare provider at least 4-6 weeks before travel for personalized vaccination advice.
Weather and seasons: The best times for this comprehensive adventure are during autumn (October-November) when skies are clear and temperatures moderate, and spring (March-April) when rhododendron forests bloom spectacularly. These seasons offer optimal conditions for trekking, clear mountain views, comfortable rafting temperatures, and excellent wildlife viewing in Chitwan. Winter (December-February) brings colder temperatures but fewer crowds and potential discounts. Monsoon season (June-September) presents challenges with heavy rains affecting trekking, rafting safety, and mountain visibility.
Cultural etiquette in villages and temples: This journey passes through traditional Gurung and Magar villages during trekking, as well as sacred Hindu and Buddhist sites. Show respect by asking permission before taking photos of locals, dressing modestly (covering shoulders and knees at temples), removing shoes before entering homes or religious sites, and using your right hand for giving or receiving items. Don’t point feet toward religious objects, avoid public displays of affection, and learn basic Nepali greetings like “Namaste.” During temple visits, maintain quiet, respectful behavior and follow your guide’s instruction
dventure activities in Pokhara: Various excursions are available during your extended 3-day Pokhara stay, including paragliding over Phewa Lake, boating, visiting the International Mountain Museum, or exploring the Peace Pagoda. Additional options include ultralight flights, zip-lining, bungee jumping, and mountain biking. Mountain Kick can arrange these activities upon request for an additional fee.
Rafting safety considerations: The Trishuli River rafting involves grade 2-3 rapids suitable for beginners. All safety equipment including helmets, life jackets, and paddles are provided. Listen carefully to safety briefings, follow guide instructions, and inform guides of any swimming ability limitations. Waterproof bags for electronics and quick-dry clothing are recommended.
Chitwan wildlife guidelines: Follow all park rules and naturalist guide instructions during safari activities. Maintain safe distances from wildlife, avoid sudden movements or loud noises, wear neutral-colored clothing, and bring insect repellent for mosquito protection. Elephant safari and jeep safari activities are conducted with experienced guides prioritizing safety and wildlife conservation.
Group discounts: Special rates are available for groups booking together, with larger groups qualifying for greater savings. Contact Mountain Kick for specific pricing based on your party size and customization preferences.
Altitude considerations: While maximum altitude is only 10,535 feet, stay hydrated (3-4 liters daily), avoid alcohol during trekking days, ascend gradually, and inform guides immediately of any symptoms like headache, nausea, or dizziness.
Communication and connectivity: Mobile coverage and WiFi are available in major cities and most trekking villages for a small fee. Purchase local SIM cards in Kathmandu for extended connectivity. Emergency communication protocols are maintained by guides throughout the journey.
General
We never force our customers to follow our set itinerary. You can customize your itinerary exactly the way you want. Please share with us your ideas.
As one of the core guiding principles for Mountain Kick, we always give back to the mountain community in any way we can as a means of gratitude. The people who live in the Himalayas and share their homes with us deserve to have all their little problems fixed which seem very basic for outsiders but are commonplace in rural Nepal. The people lack proper access to healthcare, sanitation and education but a little effort from travellers goes on a long way to solve these issues. Mountain Kick has made it its corporate social responsibility to help improve the living standards of the local community. We make donations to their cause, organize social campaigns and programs and also have a few trips designed to mix a little volunteer work in your holiday.
