“We liked the concern of this company for its staffs and the environmental awareness and it has.”
There was always a response from Jagat as we had so many things to ask. We had insisted on having a Nepali guide instead of a westerner because we had to make sure the money we spend actually goes to Nepali people. We chose this company because we had heard…

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the early start worth it?
Yes. Sunrise from Sarangkot is the best view in Pokhara. On a clear morning the whole Annapurna range and the fishtail peak of Machhapuchhre turn pink and then gold. You are back at your hotel for breakfast by about 7:30am, so the rest of the day is easy.
What time is pickup?
Around 5am from October to March. In April and May the sun rises earlier, so your guide may come at about 4:45am. We confirm the exact time the evening before.
What if it is cloudy at sunrise?
Clouds sometimes hide the mountains, especially in spring. If the morning is cloudy you can skip Sarangkot and sleep in, or we can move the sunrise to another morning if you are staying longer in Pokhara.
How much walking is there?
Very little. The car takes you to every stop. The walk up to the World Peace Pagoda takes about 20 minutes from the boat landing, or you can drive most of the way up. The steps down into Gupteshwor Cave are steep and can be wet.
Can I skip the sunrise and start later?
Yes. It is a private tour so you can start at a normal time and see everything except Sarangkot. Tell us when you book.
Is it good for children?
Yes. Kids usually love the boat ride, the cave and the waterfall. The early start is the hard part, so many families skip the sunrise and begin after breakfast.
What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes with grip for the cave and a warm layer for the sunrise, as Sarangkot is cold before dawn. Cover your shoulders and knees for the temple and the monastery.
