What It Really Looks Like
Bungee Jump in Nepal: What to Expect
One of the highest bungee jumps in the world, straight down into the Kali Gandaki gorge
The crew weighs you, fits your harness and checks every clip before you step up
Jump alone, jump with a friend or ride the giant swing out over the gorge
About 2 hours each way from Pokhara with lunch near the bridge
This bungee jump in Nepal is one of the biggest drops anywhere in the world. The platform at The Cliff in Kushma hangs from a long suspension bridge 228 metres above the Kali Gandaki gorge. You step off the edge, fall towards the river and bounce back up between the canyon walls. It is about two hours from Pokhara and makes a big day out between lake days or after a trek.
You do not need any experience. When you arrive the crew weighs you and fits your harness. They explain exactly what happens and check every clip before you walk out onto the platform. After the jump a rope lowers you down and you walk back up to the bridge. Friends who do not want to jump can walk across the bridge and watch from the middle.
Not sure about a straight drop? Try the giant swing instead. You fall from the same bridge and then swing in a huge arc out over the gorge. You can also do a tandem jump with a friend. Everyone gets a certificate to take home.
What you will see and do:
- A 228 metre bungee jump into the Kali Gandaki gorge
- A walk across one of the longest suspension bridges in Nepal
- Views of the deep canyon and the river far below
- The option of a tandem jump or the giant swing
- A jump certificate to take home

Frequently Asked Questions
How high is the bungee jump at Kushma?
The jump at The Cliff is 228 metres from a platform on a suspension bridge over the Kali Gandaki gorge. It is the highest bungee jump in Nepal and one of the highest in the world.
Is it safe?
The Cliff uses trained crews and checks every harness and clip before each jump. You are weighed so the right cord is used for your weight. Like any adventure sport there is some risk, which is why travel insurance that covers bungee jumping is required.
Are there age, weight or health limits?
Yes. The Cliff sets its own age and weight limits. People with heart problems, high blood pressure, back or neck injuries, or who are pregnant should not jump. Tell us the age and weight of everyone in your group when you book and we will confirm with The Cliff before you pay.
What if I get scared on the platform?
That is very normal. The crew is used to nervous jumpers and will talk you through it. Nobody pushes you. If you decide not to jump, you can still walk the bridge and enjoy the view. Ask us about their policy for people who change their mind before you book.
What is the giant swing?
You fall from the same bridge, but instead of bouncing up and down you swing in a huge arc out over the gorge. Many people find it even more of a rush than the bungee. You can do one or both on the same day.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes and closed shoes that lace up tight. Avoid skirts, loose jewellery and anything that can fall out of your pockets. Leave glasses behind or use a strap. Hand your phone to a friend or the crew before you jump.
Can friends come and watch?
Yes. Anyone can walk across the bridge and watch from the middle for a small fee. There is also a café near the bridge with views of the platform.
Can I do the bungee and paragliding on the same trip?
Yes, but on different days. The bungee takes most of a day with the drive to Kushma. Paragliding is a morning or afternoon in Pokhara. See Paragliding in Pokhara, or book the Nepal Adventure Tour which includes both.
