‘Seti’ in Nepali translates into ‘white’ and the river could not have a more fitting name as it offers one of the best white water rafting experience in Nepal. With grade 3 and 4 rapids, the Seti has plenty of excitement to throw your way.
We drive west of Kathmandu in a private vehicle and reach Damauli in four to five hours. We walk down to the Seti River which lies in a clearing surrounded by a thick forest. After brief safety checks and last minute heads up, you will begin rafting down river. The river current is mild and the beauty of the place adds to the delightful experience. We stop for lunch in the afternoon but we soon hit the water afterwards and float towards Saran Ghat where rafting for Day 1 ends. We will stay overnight at a camp in the river bank.
We begin early. There are grade 3 and 4 rapids on our way down from Saran Ghat to Gai Ghat so you will need to remember what your guides and trainers told you the other day. Travelling down river with the thrills and chills of white water, you will find yourself in another river as the Seti River flows into the Trishuli River. Our rafting continues till Gai Ghat from where we return to Kathmandu and the trip ends.

As one of the core guiding principles for Mountain Kick, we always give back to the mountain community in any way we can as a means of gratitude. The people who live in the Himalayas and share their homes with us deserve to have all their little problems fixed which seem very basic for outsiders but are commonplace in rural Nepal. The people lack proper access to healthcare, sanitation and education but a little effort from travellers goes on a long way to solve these issues. Mountain Kick has made it its corporate social responsibility to help improve the living standards of the local community. We make donations to their cause, organize social campaigns and programs and also have a few trips designed to mix a little volunteer work in your holiday.READ MORE ABOUT CSR
