Nepal has a history rich in cultural and religious evolution and advancement. The testimonials of those periods survive in modern times through the monuments which have been well preserved for hundreds of years as national heritage. This travel package takes you on a tour of the most beautiful heritage sites in the country spread across several cities with a healthy dose of sightseeing and adventure to keep things interesting.
We will receive you at the Tribuwan International Airport as you land into Kathmandu. As you must be tired from your long flight, we will take you straight to your hotel.
This is the day for visiting some heritage sites. We visit Unesco World Heritage Site of Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the country. It is believed that the Stupa is a tomb of an incarnation of Lord Buddha.We then drive to Bhaktapur to visit the Changunarayan Temple, another World Heritage Site. The temple is located on top of a hill and surrounded by a forest and is believed to be the oldest temple in Nepal. In the evening, we will take a short drive to Nagarkot Hill Station. The weather and the scenic beauty of the place make Nagarkot the most popular hill surrounding the Kathmandu Valley.
After waking up early for a glimpse of beautiful sunrise at Nagarkot, we head south to Chitwan National Park in a luxurious tourist bus. You will be treated with views of hills and forests throughout the seven hours’ journey to Chitwan. We will stay in a jungle resort inside the national park.
There are so many fun activities in Chitwan National Park that one day is not enough. Elephant safari, jeep safari, watching wildlife, canoeing, mixing with indigenous people of the jungle – the options are so many that you will be spoilt for choice.
It takes five hours to reach Lumbini which lies west from Chitwan in a tourist vehicle. As you know, Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims come here from all over the world. The atmosphere is peaceful and there are monasteries, temples and a museum to see here.
The first half of the day will be spent sightseeing in Lumbini. Then our tourist bus will take you to Palpa in about three hours. We will travel to upper regions of Palpa to the historic city of Tansen which has several temples and palaces to visit. You will also be treated with spectacular views of the Himalayas from here.
We will head to Pokhara and it takes a little less than four hours to reach there. Pokhara is the most beautiful city in Nepal and that is why tourists from all around the world come here. The lakeside area is a great place for tourists to hangout and the nightlife here is amazing.
There are plenty of places to visit in Pokhara like the Devi’s Falls, the Bat Cave, the World Peace Pagoda, the Phewa Lake, and many more. Pokhara is a great place to go shopping in the day and partying in the night. And if you prefer natural getaways, Pokhara is surrounded by natural landmarks like lakes and hills which are perfect for a day excursion.
Our tourist bus will take you back to Kathmandu in about seven hours. The view outside the window is very beautiful as we pass through rivers, hills and towns along serpentine roads all the way through to Kathmandu. We will have lunch somewhere along the way. We will have a farewell dinner planned for your last night in Nepal.
We will drop you to the airport and bid you goodbye.
In Kathmandu, you will stay in a three-star hotel while you will be staying at standard guesthouses during your travel. There will be electricity, internet, laundry and hot showers in all of the places you stay and your room will have an attached washroom. You will have to share your room with a fellow traveller in our typical package. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 50.
All you need to bring for this tour is simply some comfortable clothes. You don’t need any special gear for touring around Nepal. Just make sure you have clothes according to the season you are arriving.
